- Q: Why are the author packages more expensive than the blogger ones?
A: Well for one the blogger packages involve less work to do. Their layouts require no research to make it fit into the ‘look’ of a genre, nor do they have boundaries that are sometimes set forth by publishers or requirements to match the look/feel of a book. Secondly, for the most part, bloggers don’t get paid for what they do, therefore making their site look nice and presentable is wholly coming out of their pockets from their day jobs. - Q: What are the “Special Features” mentioned in the blogger packages, can the author packages have these as well?
A: The “special features” are things that aren’t normally included in a layout/site by default and have to be added in separately. Certain blogger packages and ALL author packages include these. The actual features include things like the ability to be able to reply to comments, fancy post titles & social networking widgets so that you can share the information on a site easily. There are examples of all of these things on the Book Nerds site! - Q: Your prices are too high, I can’t afford that!
A: Then I am sorry. My prices however are incredibly low compared to the amount of work that will be put into your site/layout and incredibly cheap by any design industries standard. If you want something nice and suited to exactly what you want, then you’re going to have to pay for it. If you’d rather have something cheap then you will end up with a crappy free layout that probably has illegally used images and stolen graphics. That choice is completely up to you. - Q: What is pre-made design?
A: A Pre-made design is either a pre-made design you’ve found on the internet that you need help installing, or is one that I’ve done for someone before just customized with name/navigation to fit your site. OR! It’s where you give up the rights to any design I do for you to be used as a pre-made. Which means you can get a completely original design, but other people will have the option of using it too. - Q: What does it mean, “Hosting, Domain & Image prices not included”?
A: Exactly what it says. If you’re on blogger you don’t have to worry about hosting, and ten to one if your site is already live, you don’t have to worry about hosting. Hosting is basically like your computer hard-drive but for your site and located remotely, if you have a new site you might need this. If you’re unhappy with your current host, I can also help with that if you’d like.
As for images, unlike a lot of the free blog “designers” who illegally use photos that they just happen to find on the internet, I buy the rights to the images I use, and or have written permission for the owners of said photographs. This sometimes requires images to be purchased. These extra prices are not included in your package unless otherwise discussed. - Q: What if I get the images myself? Then will you use them?
A: Sure! If you have the rights to use them. Copyright infringement is a serious offense not to mention morally corrupt act. I do not use any photographs/resources I don’t have the rights to use, I don’t want to put YOU in a hot seat to get in trouble, and I don’t want to be there myself.
